Elizabeth M. Songer

She lived a life blessed with family and faith, both of which defined her as a person. Her professional life

was that of a religious education teacher and director. It was a passion for her. She spent many Sundays

on the altar with her husband, Keith, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She also found comfort in

bringing the eucharist to the elderly in nursing facilities in the area. In more recent years she

volunteered her time in various capacities for local organizations, always a dedicated member of her

community. She served on numerous boards and helped on whatever level she was able despite her

failing vision. She was an ever-present gift in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great

grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Keith E. Songer. She is survived by her five

children: Therese Sheehan and husband Richard of Maynard, Mark Songer and wife Tina of Sandwich,

Kyle Songer of Bourne, Leanne Songer Avakian and husband Mark of Bourne and Daron Songer and wife

Annie of Bourne, her sister, Suzanne Serafini and husband Henry of Leominster. She is also survived by

12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, as well as other family and friends spread far and wide.

Services are as follows: 11am Mass on Monday, December 13th @ St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 141 Main St. Buzzards Bay, MA 02532. Burial to follow at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
