

He was born to the late Walter and Mary Riley in Quincy Mass, He was the second oldest of 5 brothers. Greg graduated from Sacred Heart High school 1970. After high school he went to East Coast Aerotech and received his A&P (airframe and powerplant) license. Greg then joined the US Navy and became part of the Navy Flight Demonstration Team, The Blue Angels.
After coming home from the Navy, He then married his best friend and love of his life Ann Marie (Busche) Riley of Hanson, MA in 1978. Having 4 children, Derek, Kurt, Paul and Gretchen, they then built their forever home in Monument Beach in 1982. Greg worked as an airplane mechanic for multiple airlines including Continental, PBA, Island Airlines and AR Global as well as several other jobs.
Greg was an active member of St. John’s the Evangelist Church where he would be seen every Sunday with his family. Greg and his wife were part of the marriage preparation team, Eucharistic ministers and handyman at times fixing odds and ends around the church as well as a weekly staple at Bingo and part of the ECHO community.
Greg grew up doing boy scouts with his brothers and when he had children, he became the Scout master of Cub Scout Troop 44 and Boy Scout Troop 44 in Pocasset. He would also be seen at numerous Girl Scouting events with his daughter. He became a surrogate father to many other families. Greg was always willing to lend a hand when needed and always had the perfect tool to fix anything. Greg left a lasting impression on everyone he met whether it was a friendly conversation, a joke, or helping a complete stranger on the side of the road.
Greg is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Marie. He leaves his children Derek and his wife Amy (Cody) Riley; Kurt and his wife Angela (Janssen) Riley and their 3 children Gavin, Austin and Pearl; Paul and his wife Sarah (Britton) Riley and their 5 children Braelyn, Autumn, Avalyn, Parker, Hudson; and daughter Gretchen Riley. Along with his brothers Geoff, Gerard, Gerald, and Garrett Riley and various nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at Nickerson-Bourne funeral home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA on February 11th from 4-8 PM, A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 841 Shore Rd. Pocasset, MA on Feb 12th at 10AM. The internment will be at Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:30AM. A reception will follow in the reception hall at St. John’s the Evangelist church.
