

He was born James Henry Masone on January 5, 1942 in Winthrop, the son of F. James and Evelyn (Ivers) Masone.
James attended and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1959, went on to East Coast Aero Tech, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from U-Mass-Boston.
On June 24, 1967, James was united in marriage to Joyce Harrington in Hull, MA. To this union two children were born, Jessica and Michael.
He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961 to his discharge in 1965.
Before moving to Providence, he lived in Hawaii, Las Vegas, New York City, and Philadelphia. He enjoyed traveling, politics, all sports, playing cribbage and poker. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Anne Del Tergo, and a brother-in-law James Fryar.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Jessica Holst and her husband Robert of N. Attleboro, Michael Masone and his wife Kerry of Norton. His siblings; Jeanne Fryar, and Sharon Greenleaf, both of Cedarville. And his grandchildren Nathan Barber, Jennavive Barber, Luke Holst, Michael Masone, Gianna Masone, and Isabella Masone.
Friends may share respects with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday March 22 at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA 052532.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 23 at 11:00 AM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home in Bourne. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
