

Jane Nixon, loving wife and mother, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a 40 year battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Her loving family was by her side. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Myra Rannacher. She is survived by her husband George of 54 years, daughter Jane Niederberger and husband Mark of Indianapolis, son Chris and wife Leslie of Virginia Beach and son Peter and wife Carol of Hanover. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Jane was born in Fall River and raised in the Whittenton section of Taunton where she was a graduate of Taunton High School. Jane spent most of her adult life in Foxborough where she raised her family. Jane worked for the Foxborough School System and was an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Upon retirement, George and Jane moved to Pocasset on Cape Cod where Jane had spent her summers since she was a teenager. Jane loved to play cards, go to the beach, and spend time with friends. Her great disposition and love of life will be missed dearly by both friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 841 Shore Road in Pocasset. Burial to follow at MA National Cemetery at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jane's memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 Crafts Street, Suite 450, Newton, MA 02458 Attn: Memorial/Jane Nixon.
