

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Alejandro and Angelina (Garcia) Franco.
He is survived by brother Edwin Franco and his wife Maria of Puerto Rico; children and their spouses; Daughter Celeste and Steve Jennings of Knoxville, TN, Sons Miguel and Donna Franco of Mashpee, MA, Jose Franco and his wife, JoAnne Papi of Sagamore Beach, MA and Alejandro Franco III of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and their spouses; Angelina and Kenny Reed, Anna and John Tyler Keelon, Michael and Tammy Fredericks, Heather and Sean Johnson, Stephen Franco, Alexandria Franco, Aurianna Franco, Madeleine Franco, Lucas Franco, Alejandro Franco IV and Annabelle Franco. 4 great-grandchildren Kallie Elizabeth A. Reed, McKenna L. Reed, Taylor Fredericks, and Lucas Johnson.
Jose Antonio Franco retired after 30-plus years in the Coast Guard, beginning as a radio man and retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4, after his last assignment as Commanding Officer of the Coast Guard Radio Station, San Juan, Puerto Rico. He enjoyed playing softball as a member of the Cape Cod Senior Softball team, which placed 4th in the 2004 World championships. He has traveled all over the world but enjoyed his peace and solitude at his home in Pocasset.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.
