Born in Winthrop, MA, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (DeStefano) Alongi, Sr.
He attended Berkley School of Music and worked as a computer systems analyst for many years. In his free time Joe loved to play his guitar, work in the yard, and spend time with his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Kathryn Brown and her wife Becky Brown of Sagamore Beach, sisters, Patricia Basiliere and Ann Marie Alongi and grandchildren Hudson and Hugo Brown. He was predeceased by Carol Khoylian.
