Julia R. Jones

Born May 11, 1934 in Bay City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Ruth (Williamson) Harris, and the wife of her high school sweetheart, William A. Jones, to whom she was married for 56 years.

After teaching second and fifth grade for 25 years in the Saginaw Township School District, she split her retirement years between Michigan and Cape Cod, Mass. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, playing cards, reading, knitting and keeping in touch with childhood friends and family countrywide. Julia also had quite the green thumb.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two children: Timothy Jones, his wife Heidi and their three sons: Case, Grant and Scott Jones all of Mt. Lebanon, PA; and her daughter Lori J. Pinard, her husband Robert and their three sons: Benjamin, Nicholas and Andrew Pinard all of East Sandwich, MA; her sister, Nancy (Harris) Hagens and her husband Gary of Venice, Florida; her brother, Charles Harris and his wife Sharon also of Venice, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 4 pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 5 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in SANDWICH. Memorial services in Bay City will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations in Julia’s memory be made to either the McCarthy Care Center c/o Hope Health, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601 or Trinity Episcopal Church, 815 N Grant St, Bay City, MI 48708.
