She grew up in Massachusetts and had overcome multiple hardships in her life with a selfless, positive attitude. Some of these hardships included being bounced around foster homes, dealing with the loss of her brother “Eddie” when she was at a young age, dealing with the loss of 2 husbands Garren and Harry and dealing with the loss of her 26 year old daughter CeCelia in 2020 from a tragic motorcycle accident.
Kathleen was diagnosed with MS at a young age and endured other medical issues including a heart attack and stroke. With everything she’s been through, she never let it get in her way of always being there for her family and friends. Kathleen also felt the need to take in less fortunate children to give them a life they wouldn’t have otherwise. Her hobbies included driving fast in her Trans Am and motorcycle as well as going on trips with her husband Dan.
She touched so many lives with her unique, thoughtful, kind, loving personality. She was known for her great sense of humor and was loved by everyone that met her.
Kathleen is survived by her son Jake, daughter in-law Allison, granddaughter Isla CeCelia, adopted son Robert, beloved husband Dan Bates and brother Johnny who meant the world to her.
Her visitation will be 4 to 6 on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne, MA. Service and Burial are private.
