

Marjorie (LaHait) Taylor, a long time resident of Wareham, passed away January 5, 2012 at Sippican Healthcare Center of Marion at the age of 92. Midge was born January 22, 1919 in Somerville to the late Frank and Marion (Collins) LaHait, the third of 4 children: the late Harriet Power, Dorothy Fitzpatrick and Robert LaHait. Marjorie grew up in Somerville and in 1941 married John Harold Taylor of Malden who also preceded her in death. They lived in Malden and Marjorie worked for a number of years as a secretary at Tufts University and later, Malden Hospital. They built their home in Wareham, where they retired in the mid 1970’s.
She is survived by her loving son, John ‘Jack’ H. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Lesley of Conroe, Texas; grandsons: Christopher and wife Michelle of Houston and Geoffrey and wife Lacy of Panorama, Texas; five great grand children: Austen, Connor, Danielle, John and Mia, as well as her sister-in-law Ann LaHait of Stoneham and brother-in-law James Taylor and wife Lois of Hancock, NH. She also leaves several nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews.
Those who knew her were touched by her loving care and generosity. She took joy and pride in being with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Her family would like to give thanks to the nurses and care givers at Sippican Health Center who took such good care of her and protected her dignity. And a special thanks to William (Brownie) Brown and Althea O’Brien whose tender loving and care allowed her to be independent and self sufficient.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 141 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
