Takako Bedard

BEDARD, Takako (Shindo), 96, of Pocasset, MA, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 24, 2023 surrounded by love. She was born to the late Mitsuncsuke and Aiko Shindo in Tokyo, Japan on January 27, 1927.

She grew up in Japan where she was able to attend some of the best private schools. After high school Takako went to dietary school and began her career as a dietician. After meeting the love of her life, she left Japan and later received training to be a dental assistant and enjoyed that career for 40 years. Takako enjoyed her many trips back to Japan to see family and friends.

Takako was widowed by her loving husband, Elmer H Bedard with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Toshio Shindo. Takako is survived by her nephews, Hisayoshi, Chiaki, and Daisuke Shindo of Japan; her very special friends, Karen Powers and Maria Murphy, as well as many, many close friends, too numerous to mention by name.

Takako was always eager to share her smile as well as wide variety of talents with her friends at Cape Cod Senior Residences. When Takako moved there, she added so many more people to her incredible circle of friends. Everyone she ever met is blessed to have known her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday January 15, 2024, 8AM at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne, MA. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. in Bourne at 9AM, where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband Elmer.
