

Born on February 23, 1944 in Malverne, New York, he was the son of the late Silvio Casazza and Mary Casazza. While living in New York, Andy was employed for many years with Cardwell Condenser in Lindenhurst and worked with defense electronics and manufacturing. When Andy moved to Maryland, he was then employed by ABC Supply Company and worked in construction material sales before retiring. Andy, a veteran of the AirForce, proudly served in the Vietnam War as a loadmaster on board of a Douglas C-124 Globemaster II. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dog Scarlett, working in the garden, cheering for the Commanders (aka “Red Skins”) and known to be “Mr. Fix-it.” In his earlier years, Andy was known to be an avid golfer and water skier. Andy attended Kent Island Methodist Church in Chester.
Andy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Molly S. Casazza; children Michael Casazza and his wife Karolyn, Karen Swezy and her husband Aric, Lisa Crain and her husband Michael; step-sons Rick Van Meter and his fiancé Laurie, Joe Van Meter and his wife Tisa; grandchildren Justin Crain, Nicholas Crain, Jiana Casazza, John Michael Casazza, Aidan Swezy, Trevor Van Meter, Lili Van Meter, and Harley Bryant; sister Ann Brienza and her husband Ron; brother Paul Casazza; brother-in-law Wolf Hohenner; sister-in-law Briget Kane and her husband Tom; sister-in-law Cecilia Cook; brother-in-law Shawn Cook and his wife Sue; nieces Suzanne Steele, Laurie Jones and her husband Terry, Allison Ambrose and her husband Rob, Jean Marie Farrell and her husband Zach, Regina Good and her husband Dwight, Alyssa Cook and her significant other Ben, Tina Butler and her husband Wes; nephews Mitch Cook and his wife Liz, Scott Faber and his wife Kim, and Ed Katchmark.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2024 beginning at Noon until 12:45 PM, where services will begin at 12:45PM at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715. Burial will immediately follow beginning at 2:30 at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Joe Van Meter, Rick Van Meter, Justin Crain, Nicholas Crain, John Michael Casazza, Aidan Swezy, and Trevor Van Meter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Andy’s name.
