He began his education at St. Andrews Primary School in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, before progressing to Christ’s High School, in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria. He later attended Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, where he earned an H.N.D. (Higher National Diploma) in Fine Arts.
Andrew worked as a long-term employee at The Punch Newspaper before relocating to Washington, D.C., USA, in 1986 to further his studies at the University of the District of Columbia. In 1988, he welcomed his son, Andrew Olumoya Jr., who now resides in Mitchellville, Maryland.
Fondly known as “Toyin,” “Andy,” and affectionately nicknamed “Paloma,” Andrew Olumoya Sr. was a kind-hearted and friendly man. A devoted Christian, a loving father, and a hard working servant of God, he dedicated his life to his faith, family, and work. Andrew worked tirelessly throughout his life, never considering retirement until an unforeseen and devastating illness left him incapacitated.
Andrew Olutoyin Olumoya Sr. leaves behind a loving son, Andrew Olumoya Jr., as well as two cherished brothers, Mr. John Olumoya and Mr. Stephen Olumoya. He is also survived by three devoted sisters: Dr. Mercy Olumoya, Mrs. Kehinde Olukemi Adeyemi, and Mrs. Idowu Abiodun Eseka.
