Anne Marie Trafton, "29 years old" if you ever asked her (Actually 77) of Bowie Maryland, passed away peacefully in her home Monday morning July 28, 2014. The daughter of Joseph and Marie White was born October 13, 1936 in Massachusetts. She grew up outside of Boston with her Brother Joseph and sisters Mary, Gail, Ruth, and Barbara, spending her summers in White Side, Novia Scotia. After graduating from Weymouth High school she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked as a stewardess for Trailways. It was there she met her late husband, Allan C. Trafton. The two were married after "I finally won enough money playing nickel slot machines to afford my wedding dress".
Anne and Allen settled in Bowie, Maryland where they raised their 5 children; Julie (Setera), Darren, Gary, Eric and Maureen (Hart).
Anne enjoyed square dancing and camping with her family, martinis on the front porch, and spoiling her grand children; Tyler, Brett, Krista, Jake, Mitch, Logan, Garner, Spencer, Sarah, Emma, Cullen, and with the addition of Ashley to our family, she even got to spoil her great grandson Andrew.
She is remembered as a kind, thoughtful women, with a great sense of humor, who no matter what the holiday, never failed to send a handwritten card personalized with her impeccable hand writing, and a dollar bill tucked inside for the kids.
She was an Irish Catholic from Boston who graced her way through life, leaving behind friends and family who mourn her loss, but were blessed to have known her.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 pm, Friday, August 1, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Chapel, Bowie, MD. Interment is private.
