Born to her beloved England in 1923, Tina had many fond memories of her early life in London, especially when she modeled for the department stores in London, including the Selfridge store. She served in the British Royal Navy during WWII and came away with many lifelong friends. “Britannia Rules the Waves” was the song she loved to sing. She met her much-loved husband, Bob, during the war and was married before they moved to the United States in 1946. She would reside in Brooklyn, NY, Waldwick, NJ and finally Bowie, MD.
Tina was gentle, kind, caring, compassionate, courageous, loving, giving, and so sweet. She took great delight in doing anything for you. Everyone that met her loved her and was charmed by her English accent. She loved family gatherings, listening to music, reading a good mystery and working in the garden. Tina created a home where visitors were always welcome. She and her mother enjoyed sewing uniforms and clothes for her children. She also made the best handmade Barbie Doll clothes. Tina lovingly supported her youngest daughters in Bowie Bel Airs Majorette competitions traveling with them throughout the US. Every year she would make her favorite recipes including Christmas pudding from scratch. But, the best was English Pancakes and Yorkshire pudding.
Although Tina started her career later in life, she loved the friendships she made with her colleagues during her years at Sears.
Tina was involved in Catholic fund raising bazaars making intricate hand-made decorations such as houses, churches and Christmas scenes made out of wax. She was also a member of the St. Pius X Ladies of the Sodality and the St. Pius X Caring Ministry and would travel to and comfort those who were home bound and in nursing homes.
Tina’s favorite and greatest love was for her family, children, grandchildren, who called her by the affectionate family name Muzzy and great grandchildren, who called her Big Muz. Her loving ways will never be forgotten.
