I just heard today about Cheryl's passing.  I am so sad. I work in HR for a company and over the last 16 years I've placed a ton of ads.  Over that time we became very friendly and would often catch up with our lives, our animals and families.  I am so sad to know that such a kind and beautiful soul has left this earth. I know my life was enriched just knowing her.  My heartfelt sympathies go out to her family and loved ones.

Cherryl - I will miss you.  The only saving grace are the memories of the 10 years we "played" together.  I don't know how we lived thru all that fun - but we did.  Thank you Rick for the love you gave her - she was very happy when you came back into her life.  Give Frank a hug and a kiss for me.  Love, Linda

Cherryl, I really can't believe that you are gone. My thoughts are with your family and friends. I'm not quite sure how or why we lost touch. We were so close for so many years. I remember that we had such a love of music, dancing, pinball, downtown D.C.,poker,and laughter. We knew what each other was thinking without saying a word.  I guess life happened. I never forgot you and thought about you all the time. I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you.

Cherryl, you were such a great person to work with. Fresh out of college and starting my first job at The Capital you always had encouraging words for me and you taught me so much. I miss you and will always remember your kindness. My condolences to your family.

Cherryl and I lived on the same street in West Lanham Hills.  I have known her since I was 5 years old. There are many fond memories of times spent with Cherryl.  Keeping the Bessant Family in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of Cherryl's passing. Heartfelt prayers and condolences to her family. I knew Cherryl from our young childhood years. Our families lived in West Lanham Hills at the same time. Although we lost touch in our older years it is still sad to hear of her passing. She was a lovely, bubbly child with a smile always on her face.

Cherryl, you were my very first real girlfriend and we shared some fun times together. Though we both went our seperate ways many years ago, I've often thought of you over the years. I'm fortunate to have known Cherryl during the years I worked at The Capital. "Nice" sounds trite, but Cherryl was NICE. She was unfailingly friendly and pleasant - and had a great sense of humor.  I will never forget her. Her loved-ones must take comfort in the knowledge that many people truly liked Cherryl.

Our sympathy goes out to Cherryl's family and friends. We are very sad, but know that she is in a better place with no more pain and suffering. Cherryl was a long time friend having lived on the same row of townhouses for 29+ years.  We were the only two original owners left in our row.  Our son was 2 years old when we moved in and our daughter was born a year later. We were very fortunate to have Cherryl see our children grow up over the years. Our son would become her computer go to guy. For a time our daughter was Inky's dog sitter/walker while Cherryl was working. Cherryl loved her dogs. Cherryl also loved sitting on her porch on Halloween seeing the costumes and giving out treats to the children. I remember the year she gave out glow in the dark necklaces and all the children loved them. We would always go down and talk to her and pass the time as we waited for the next group of Trick or Treater's to show up. Halloween just won't be the same. Cherryl will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her.  You will always be remembered. Rest In Peace Cherryl.

I just can't believe she's gone...I always call Cheryl when I need to place a classified ad, she was so pleasant.  this just seems so sureal to me.  God has an Angel who was on top of her game here and I know she will be on top of her game in Heaven. My prayer goes out to the Bessant family, may God bless you all.

I worked with Cherryl at Best Products in 1980 and have remained friends ever since.  I have enjoyed meeting the family over the years and wish all of you my prayers during this time.

I will remember visiting you when you and Lucy were roommates and keeping in touch for a while after. Every time I picked up a copy of the Capital, i thought of you because of THE Blade. I will miss you,but I know God and the angels will take good care of you.

I cannot express my sadness ,,,Cherryl was one of my closest friends- I will miss her neverending curiosity and truth seeking.Oh, how we loved to play "Nancy Drew" together. I will NEVER forget the blast we had at the Rolling Stones Concert and how she was in awe of Mick and the band! Cherryl was a wonderful person to work with, she was always found the time to help me when I needed it.  We started together in Bowie at the Bowie Blade and met up again when we were both transfered to the Capital.  Cherryl will be missed by the many lives that she touched.  My prayers to the family.

Larry and I were so saddened to hear of Cherryl's passing. It's never easy to accept losing someone you've known for many years. May she rest in God's arms and know that she'll be missed.

My thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences are with Cherryl's family and friends during this difficult time.  Having been Cherryl's close neighbor in Bowie for 25+ years, I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the repartee we had over the many years when we met one another on the stoop of our townhouses for a friendly chat to keep up with the local and national news.

Cherryl, I've gone from finding out you were ill to finding out you have left us all in a 20 minute period. I'm shocked. You were always one of my favorite people to talk to over in Classifieds, and were always so sweet and so funny. I still tell people about the funny things you'd say! We may have been in very sporadic contact since I moved away but I hope you know you were loved and appreciated by many.

Thanks for all those great card partys. Even though you and the other girls always cheated.LOL! You were a great friend. We love you and will  miss you.
