

David Milton Woodard, the son of the late Eddie and Celia Woodard was born on February 1, 1941 in Warrenton, North Carolina. He departed this life on January 20, 2022 at the Larkin Chase Care Center in Bowie, Maryland.
David joined the Largo Community Church in the early 2000’s and attended faithfully until his illness.
David was educated in the Warren County Public Schools. He earned his degree from Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina and furthered his education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.
David was united in Holy Matrimony to Ethel Miller. From this union, they welcomed a son, Keary Woodard and daughter, Kourtney Woodard.
During his career, he received several awards for his dedicated and professional services. David held positions at several prestigious institutions, including Marriott’s Corporate Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland from which he retired.
David is survived by his wife, Ethel Woodard; sons, Jeffrey and Keary Woodard; daughter, Kourtney Woodard; grand-daughter, Brittany Woodard; grand-sons, Jalen Woodard, Deyon Woodard and Brandon Woodard; Sisters, Estella Chewing of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Trumella Hargrove of East Orange, New Jersey, Edith Johnson(Johnny) of Bowie, Maryland, Elnora Jones (Quincy) of Raleigh, North Carolina. Catherine Miller of Bowie, Maryland, Mary Powell(Clarence) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Idella Tyson of Henderson, North Carolina, Geneva Vick(Stewart) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Loretta Williams of Henderson, North Carolina; brothers, Harold Woodard of Capital Heights, Maryland, James Woodard(Margaret) of Kernersville, North Carolina, Rufus Alston(Ruby) of Wake Forest, North Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his twin sister, Mildred W. Owens and a brother Burnis C. Woodard.
David with his outgoing personality shared love and wisdom with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
