On August 28, 2023, Esther R. Buchanan, of Bowie, MD, passed peacefully at her residence. Esther was a devout Catholic, a dedicated family member and mother. She built her career serving others in the D.C. Government, real estate sales consulting and a long time member of St. Joseph's Red Hat Society and Good Samaritan Ministry.
In 1958, Esther married Glenard Buchanan (deceased). Their beautiful union of nearly 60 years blessed them with three daughters, Roblyn (Morris) Hymes, Nancy (Quincy) Riley, Nina (John) Childress. Grandchildren Whitney, Melanie, Jasmine, John, and Tyler. Esther leaves her sister, Louise Page, a host of relatives, church family, friends, and neighbors.
She is preceded in death by seven siblings. Visitation will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2020 St. Joseph Drive, Largo, MD on October 6, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Interment at Cheltenham Veteran Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD at October 6, 2023 on 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
