What a man a faith who spoke truth directly from the Word of God  without apologics.  When think of Gene Mills I think of the apostle Paul.  The song says..."Count Your Blessings, name them one by one"  I count my blessings and I name it Gene Mills.

2012 was a year of great personal loss in our church.  Kathy and Skip, we will be praying for you as you recover and grow from the privilege of years of caregiving ended by a promotion to heaven.  Pastor Mills always spoke of the "angel that lives at my house" and I am happy for him that he is with her.  He was an amazing man of God - a friend to all, always ready to give the very best advice and counsel. We will all miss him very much.  Please know that we are praying for all of you. We first met Gene in his Sunday School class 17 years ago and he has taken us on a journey through the Bible like none we have ever experienced before.  Our thanks to him for helping us become disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Gene and his wife, Lois, possessed a genuine warmth and kindness that touched our lives and redirected our path.  We know that after the grieving there will, one day, be a time of reunion and rejoicing when we will meet once again.  We thank god for Gene and Lois Mills and their love story.

I only met Gene and his lovely wife Lois three years ago when I joined the Ambassadors Bible Study Class.  This past Spring I joined his Sunday School Class and have enjoyed meeting more of his family and church members.  Gene was a wonderful teacher and I know that he must have been a great pastor as he made the Bible come alive for me.  
I will miss him with all my heart and my prayers and love go out to his family at this time.  I will be praying that God grants you comfort and your memories will keep you all together spending many hours reminiscing about Gene and his lovely wife, Lois.

Sue, I'll always think of your dad as "the Colonel"!  I'm glad he's with your mom now, but am so sorry for your loss and hope your sadness will ease soon.

To a wonderful father-in-law who I will sadly miss. Gene always took time to visit with you and to listen about events in your life. His sharp wit, worldly knowledge and love for family members will be sorely missed.

My Uncle was a great man; loved the word of God, loved his children, and loved people. He was always so passionate about the Bible and the character of Jesus.

Remembering the great times we had the privilege of being in Gene's Sunday School class -- those were the best!  We will dearly miss him -- but now he has reunited with his dear Lois.  His family will be in our thoughts and prayers.  Loretta & Marvin Smith

At Grace Baptist Church Mr. Mills would always call me a naughty kid as I'd always run into his Adult Sunday school class and tickle him and If I didn't come by he would come and look for my mother to see where I was. He also gave me my first gun, when he and Mrs. Mills came over one time to my family's house and brought his gun collection to show us, he kept pulling $5 bills out of the muzzles to give to us kids, and the last gun he showed us he gave to me. It was actually a BB gun replica of a Luger but at the time I thought it was the coolest thing ever and would carry it around everywhere! It's still hanging on my wall next to the other guns I now own.
