Frankie was born on July 7, 1953 to Frank and Myrt Wilson in Plainfield, NJ. She was a proud founding family member and lifelong resident of Bowie, moving there before her father was elected its first mayor in 1964. After she graduated from the Grier School in Tyrone, PA in 1971, she went on to study English and Art at Northland College in Ashland, WI.
In 1974, Frankie met Jim Lundstrom at the Irish Pizza Pub in Laurel, MD. Frankie and Jim went on to have 3 children, Aimee Barbagallo, Genevieve Ladino and James Lundstrom.
Frankie worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 15 years, before an early retirement in 1989 to manage her kidney disease diagnosis. In 1999, her best friend, Cathy Tierney, donated a kidney to Frankie. Sadly, the transplant was not successful in the long run. She lived on dialysis for 17 years before receiving another kidney in 2022.
Frankie was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Virginia Kuhnert and Kelley Wilson, and granddaughter, Mia Rose Ladino. She is survived by her husband, children and six grandchildren, Abigail, Liliana and John Barbagallo, Alexis Sullivan, Maycee Lundstrom and Wilson Ladino.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville, MD on March 23, 2023 at 11:00am. Burial and celebration of her life will follow at the church. Donations in her honor may be made to the National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org
