Robey,  That's the way I always addressed you ( I will not type the things you called me :)  I honestly never met anyone more giving and caring despite your methods you were a mentor to me in many ways.  I had so much fun hunting and golfing with you - and it was not the activity that I enjoyed but the fellowship and friendship.  May God richly bless, comfort, and keep your family.

The Bascus Family extends its condolences to the Robey family. A kind man, always with a wave and a hello. We will miss seeing him hanging on the front porch. We are keeping the family in our prayers.

I will miss Reds daily visit or inspection of his Trap & Skeet center. With his years of guidance, and a tell it like it is attitude his Trap and Skeet center has become a pride facility for Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Rest in peace Reds, in Heaven there will be plenty of Oysters and Crown Royal for you. I will miss our daily talk.

Always a good, supportive  friend, always a good story, always a joke- but not always funny! Will miss you Reds.

Mr. Robey was a great man who was always true to his convictions.  He had a wonderful spirit and enjoyed life. Our sincere condolences to his family.

You will be in my heart forever.  You will be truly missed.

To a man who wore many hats and had many names Hugh, Reds, Pough, Dad, Poppop, and Fat Poppop, and some others my grandmother would say that I cannot repeat.  He was loved by all of us.  My Poppop has lived a long and successful life filled with memories to share.  The best memories of all were when the family visited the "Farm" which was my families beach resort.  We would get bit by crabs, sink the boats, get smacked in the head with branches in the back of the pick-up truck, and in the evening roast marshmallows on the beach.  Love you Poppop.

Red Robey will be missed by many.  He was a one of a kind person who did what needed to be done. A gentleman and a good friend.  Will miss you God bless and rest in peace.

Reds Robey was the Director of Parks and Recreation during most of my tenure as a Commissioner from Pr. Geoge's Co.  He was a delightful man, dedicated and committed to making his Department one of the finest in the country.  As a result, the Commission was recognized with many gold medals for excellence nationwide. We were honored to know him and offer our deepest sympathy and prayers to his family.

Mr. "Reds" Robey was an amazing man and glad I had the chance to talk with him frequently at the Trap and Skeet Center, where he often shared words of wisdom with me. I was sadden by the notice from the Retiree Association of Reds passing.  Although I worked in the Montgomery side of the Commission, Reds was one of my favorites from the PG side.  I will miss seeing and visiting with him at future Association luncheons.  Rudy Gole, Poolesville, MD

My condolences to the family. His many friends will truly miss Reds - especially those at PG Trap & Skeet. Reds was the keeper of the fireplace flame and it's never going to be the same without him. He was a bigger than life kinda guy and he will never be forgotten.

I came to work for the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission in 1966 and that is when I had the first opportunity to meet "Reds" Robey.he found that he was a very personal type of person to work for, he was a working man's boss and get a lot to look after those of us in the Grounds and Maintenance Department, he took care of us as he went up the ranks within The Commission and never forgot where he came from. Years later I had the opportunity to work with one of his sons Hugh B.Robey Jr.and I was very impressed with this young man at a time, he never let his father's position go to his head and he also was a very hard worker.
My condolences go out to the Robey Family,I know Reds will be surely missed not only among his family but also his commission family.
