Julianne “Julie” Patterson Catloth of Bowie, Maryland passed away peacefully at Johns Hopkins Hospital on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Born on May 23, 1945 in Washington D.C. to Milton and Florence Patterson, Julie built her life around family, friends and love.
Julie graduated from Central High School in 1963 and after graduation worked at the Interior Department. In September of 1963, she met the love of her life, George Catloth and they were married on August 24, 1968. In 1971 they welcomed their son, George E. Catloth III “Chip” and in 1974 welcomed their daughter, Robbin (Catloth) Oden.
After spending some time raising her family, Julie went back into the workforce and was a teacher’s aide at Hollywood Elementary School and Langley Park Elementary School. Julie went on to retire from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in 2006. Some of her most treasured memories include beach trips with her girlfriends, family trips, playing games with her grandchildren, cruises with family and spending time in Ocean City with her husband George.
Julie is survived by her loving husband George, son George E. Catloth III “Chip” (Elaine) and daughter Robbin Oden (Darryl) and the loves of her life, her three grandchildren Jordan Catloth, Sean Oden and Amaya Oden. Julie is also survived by her sisters Patricia Patterson, Jody Lewis (Cleney) and sister-in-law Diana Richardson (Bobby). Julie was proceeded in death by her siblings Milton Patterson, John Patterson, Shirley Raum, William “Freddy” Patterson, Blanche Diffenderfer, James Patterson and sister-in-law Mary Catloth. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services are as follows:
Viewing on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Robert Evans Funeral Home in Bowie, MD from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchellville, MD at 11:00am with the internment immediately following the service at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
