Mrs. Karen “Casey” Lynne Ramirez-Herrera of Davidsonville, Maryland, born April 7th 1965 in Cheverly, Maryland, to the late Janet Faye Langley and Marion “Randy” Randolph Tolley, passed away peacefully in the company of her beloved husband at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland, on Monday, July 24th, 2023.
She attended Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, and met the love of her life, Crispino Efrain Ramirez-Herrera in 1980, and the rest was history. They married in 1983 and were blessed with five adoring children. Her memory will be forever cherished in the lives of her children: Vanessa Renee Ramirez-Herrera (René Peñalonzo), Alexis Efrain Ramirez-Herrera (Xiomara Zelaya), Maritza Carolina Ramirez-Herrera (Jason Case), Crislynne Macaela Ramirez-Herrera, and Mackenzie Valentine Ramirez-Herrera, and her grandchildren: Christopher Alexis, Nicolas Maison, Jewelianna Labelle, Lillian Isabelle, Miley Alina, Christine Lynne, Matteo Alejandro, Evelyn Renee, and the newest addition baby Elanor Janet.
Her lasting legacy will always be felt by everybody who was fortunate to have been touched by her beautiful life. Karen was the anchor and had the matriarch’s glue, the heart of the entire family. She encouraged and inspired the absolute best in her loved ones. Karen was such a kind, gentle, loving, real, non-judgemental, and nurturing spirit. Truly a force to be reckoned with that always saw through the nonsense. Incredibly strong and resilient. With only the grace that few women possess, she embodied what it really means to be family with acceptance and unwaivering support.
Karen was an animal-lover, through and through. She is also survived by her endeared pets Bam-Bam, Bella, Shyla, Lumi, and Rascal. She was an avid Bingo player, stuffed animal connoisseur, and a very thoughtful gift giver with never ending generosity. Karen and Chris’s marriage served as a role model, both in parenting and as a couple, inspiring their future generations. She was always so much fun to be around, very inclusive, open-minded, and embracing. We are all so fortunate that she was such a huge influence in our lives. Her spirited energy is already deeply missed.
(PLEASE WEAR NO BLACK, KEEP IT COLORFUL) A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Sunday, July 30th, 2023 at Lakemont Memorial Gardens: 900 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, Maryland 21035. Flowers can be sent directly to the Cemetery or her home.
The Serenity Prayer
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
