Leon received his bachelor’s degree at Morris College, and master’s degree at Columbia University. He served as the National Director of the USDA Forest Service and retired in 1986. Then he served as a school administrator at Benjamin Tasker Middle School and retired in 2009.
He is survived by sister, Lois Burke, wife, Terri Anderson, children, Lisa, Leon, Leah, and Lori, grandchildren, Andrew and Natalie, and many devoted family and friends.
Family will receive friends Thursday, January 6th at the Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715 from 7-9pm. Funeral will be held on Friday, January 7 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 13106 Annapolis Rd, Bowie, MD 20715 at 11am.
