Leon Thompson went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2020. Leon was born in Greer, South Carolina, and he worked at the Library of Congress. Leon loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, he also enjoyed soul food, seafood, soul music from the 50’s through the 90’s. He enjoyed the technology and the changing media as music evolved, the reel to reel, turn tables, tapes, and vinyl records.
Leon is survived by his daughters, Regina Goins of Washington D.C. and Theresa Thompson of Bowie, MD, his two sisters, Brenda Thompson of Simpsonville, SC and Lee Ann Duckett of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Marjorie Louise White-Thompson, his brother George Ralph Thompson, parents Bessie Mae and George Thompson.
Leon will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony in South Carolina.
