Margaret Elizabeth Sweet

On June 12, 2022, Peggy Sweet (née Margaret Elizabeth Fyles), aged 81 years, passed away after an extended illness. Born in Watertown, New York on January 14, 1941, she was the loving wife of 63 years of Fran Sweet, mother of Jay Sweet and Kacey Sweet Froom, and mother-in-law of Christine Sweet and Reg Froom. She was also the loving grandmother of Caroline Nurmi, Jordan Sweet, Moss Froom, and Reggie Froom, all of whom she adored. She is survived by her sisters Elly Zimmer and Sharon Fyles, as well as a number of other loving relatives. She is predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Edna Fyles of Watertown, NY.

A resident of Bowie, Maryland for 53 years, she was a para professional at Chapel Forge Early Childhood Center for over 25 years. Peggy was a beacon of light, fun, love, and affection. All who knew her became her friend, and she had so many wonderful friends. Her smile and laughter and love of life greeted everyone and made them feel special and loved. She was a devoted gardener, loved cooking, music, “dance parties,” and her morning coffee, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family in the home she loved.
