

Mary Hoffmaster Griffith, 90, formerly a 39 year resident of Lanham, MD, and now of Rehoboth Beach, DE, found peace on March 15, 2017. Mary was born on February 25, 1927 in Shenandoah Junction, WV, and attended high school at Harpers Ferry High. Mary worked for the Washington Gas Light Company; she was the first woman in her position, working her way up in the company to an adjuster position. Mary was a past member of the University Methodist Church in College Park, MD where she was very active within the church; she was later member at the Epworth Methodist church in Rehoboth Beach, DE, she also enjoyed being part of the Lewes Senior Group.
Mary’s husband, Louis R. Griffith, whom she married in 1950, preceded her in death in 1995, They are survived by her daughter, Stephanie Glasgow of Bowie, MD., daughter in law, Sheila E. Griffith of Rehoboth Beach, DE, nephew, Justin Griffith, of Mechanicsville, MD, niece, Jennifer Taylor (Thor) of Ladson, SC, the grandchildren, Nathan, Kyle and Hailey Griffith, and Emma, Andi and Odin Taylor. Sisters in Laws, Lelia J. Hoffmaster and Bonnie Hoffmaster, as well as her nieces and nephews. Mary is also preceded in death by her son, Louis Eric Griffith, son in law, David Scott Glasgow, and her daughter’s fiancé Nicholas Kong.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation, at the Robert E. Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Rd. Bowie, MD on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 4-7 PM, where services will be held the following day at 11:30AM, with interment in Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. Arrangements by Robert E.
