8/20/24 - Ms. Mountain, you were always a grandmother to me.  I miss those pageant days at Campbell Heights Apartments.  Miss those morning walk with you and Ms. Coleman and the rest of our walking group.  I recently located pictures from the Ms. Campbell Heights Pageant.  I was 19 years old when we met and how blessed i was to meet someone as special as you.  I was there to add to the lives of the residents you all don't realize how much you added to my life.  I'm now 57 and think about  you in my everyday life.  My kids are now grown and know you as grandma Thelma :) .  Please continue to rest in peace .   You were such a beacon of light in my life.  I love and miss you very much.

Ms.  Mountain  I think of you everyday.  Today I thought of you even more.   Thinking about the days at Campbell Heights as a  teenager and you especially helped me  during the days when my mother was sick and eventually transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior in 1990.     Missing the days of  sharing  stories of loved ones as we laughed and cried together.  Missing the days  when we would go for long  walks throughout the  U St.  neighborhood, or plan for Campbell Heights Pageants, Holiday Parties, traveling to Paramount Mountains Trip in NY City, Atlantic City, Lunch Outings,  or any upcoming events.  You touched my heart in so many ways.   
Although I was off on weekends I found it difficult to stay away  from you and the other residents I had grown to know and  love as my adoptive grandparents.   Thinking about the days when I worked in Largo  I would come to visit  you at  Manor Care during  my lunch break just to check on you.  Although you didn't recognize me I was okay knowing you were given the best care you deserved.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for your love and support during those tough days during my teen years.      You are Forever in my heart!!! I love and miss you much!!!! You will never be forgotten.

 Grandma, may the work that you have done speak for you. I Know you are not here in body and I know you are resting in christ. Thank you for being a part of my life. I love you and I kept my word. Rest in peace grandma. I miss you and I feel your spirit.

Bertha, You have been a faithful grand-daughter, you have done all that you could do to make your grandmother comfortable.  God's blessings to you.
