Bill White, of Dresden, Tennessee, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 25, 2020, at the age of 56. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent the final years of his life boating along the East Coast with his loving wife by his side. Bill first served four years in the Tennessee Air National Guard before entering into law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff with the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office. He later moved to the Atoka Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant, and served as a member of the Special Response Team, a Field Training Officer, and K-9 handler. He was revered by his colleagues for his courage, character, and compassion for others. Bill had an easy-going personality and always eager to help others, which led him to build friendships all across the United States. Bill lived life to the fullest, and deeply admired the quote, “Don’t stop loving because you’re afraid to die.” Bill is survived by his wife, Jackie; his mother, Shirley; his brother, Doug; his two sons, Chris and Evan; his daughter and son-in-law, Cala and Tyler; and his three grandsons, Grayson, Griffin, and Grant.

Dear Jackie, Good memory's of Bill offering to lead “Miss Rita” from Lake Worth to Miami. Our first trip out in the “ocean.” We left before sunrise, I watched your boat start to move with lights on, and we followed. It was something to be in the Gulf Stream and seeing the sunrise. It was funny when Bill called and said we were slowing down because he got out about 7 miles and we were fighting the Stream, we did move in about 3 miles. We even saw a Navy Sub! We anchored in Biscayne Bay. It was as good as it get in life. When I would call Bill and ask the basic where are you, where have you been, whats next? Then we get around to Politics. At some point I would bring up power systems, I have always try to “share” my knowledge, I have had thoughts, maybe get Bill to up grade a little and this next winter and go with us to the Exhumes and spend 3 months on the hook. Zoila and I will miss our fellow Tennessean. We are truly saddened, at such a loss. We do have good memory's.

I am blessed to have him as my brother, and so thankful that he had Jackie in his life to share his adventures with. The last few years were the happiest I had seen him a very long time. Jackie brought out the best in him.
There are not words to express the love nor the pain that comes with the loss.
Until we meet again in Heaven,
May God go with you Big Brother.

Just wow..........I can't believe it. I met Bill somewhere around 2013. A local Trooper called me, and asked me if I would take a friend flying in my plane, because he was wanting to learn to fly. I met up with Bill, and we went flying. That was the start of a great friendship. Next thing I knew, Bill had purchased a plane just like mine, and I would go and fly him around in his new plane, because he still had no idea how to fly. We found him an instructor, and he soon acquired his pilots license.
We had so much fun flying to different states just to eat breakfast. Bill was such a great friend, and I will miss him so.
Fly High My Friend , and God Speed.....

I had the honor of working with Bill and Jackie as a dispatcher at Tipton County 911. Bill was always friendly, kind, and made us laugh. He was a great officer and a true gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with Jackie and their family.
