Floyd was born in Sellersville, PA on May 9, 1945 to the late Dorothy (Volovnik) and Floyd J. Hangey, Sr.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Naval Reserves, Merchant Marines and Army Reserves; he worked proudly as a Truck Driver for Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms for 28 years until his retirement.
Floyd was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He was an automobile enthusiast and talented carpenter. He enjoyed boating and working on his house among any other projects he could get his hands on. Always quick with a joke, he loved to make people laugh. Floyd will be sorely missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his children, Tammy L. Schlichter of Boyertown, Floyd J. Hangey, III of Boyertown, Jason D. Hangey of Boyertown and Byron M. Hangey of Phoenixville. Step Children, Richard A. Matz of Douglasville and Colleen H. Matz of Phoenixville. Grandsons, Jacob D. Hangey and Dylan A. Hangey of Boyertown. Siblings, Catherine Strawser of Perkasie, Carl Hangey of Richlandtown and Samantha Hillegass of Concord, NC. Floyd is predeceased by his sisters, Gladys Dietz and Elsie Hill along with a stepson Michael E. Matz.
Memorial Services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown, PA. 19512 on Saturday March 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
Family and friends may come from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
