Gretna M.(Shell) Heller, 102, wife of the late Harry Heller Jr. passed away peacefully at Luther Crest in Allentown, PA on January 14, 2024. Born in Bechtelsville, PA in 1921, she was the daughter of Paul H. Shell and Erma (Miller) Shell.
Gretna was a 1938 graduate of Boyertown High School and went on to become a registered nurse, graduating from Montgomery School of Nursing class of 1943.
Gretna and Harry, shared 70 years of marriage and enjoyed traveling to many interesting places in the states and abroad. She enjoyed many longtime friendships. But her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by a son Dennis Heller (Virginia) of Allentown, PA and daughter Melodee Johnson of Irwin, PA. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren. Ben Heller (Michelle), Bethany Rose (Kevin), Eric Johnson, Karl Johnson and Gregory Johnson (Velma) and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is predeceased by 2 brothers Chester and Newton and her two beloved sisters Bernice Goletz and Janet Sweeney.
Funeral Services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown, PA. 19512 on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 1:30 PM.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. Saturday at the funeral Home.
Burial will be in Bechtelsville Union Cemetery.
