John T. Olsen

He was the husband of Catherine L. Olsen, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.

Born in Delaware County, PA, he was the son of late Edward G. Olsen.

John was an ambitious, compassionate, and boisterous man who lived a full life. He played baseball for Arizona State, graduated from Widener University with a degree in engineering, and created his own business, API Services. He was a member of AOPA.

John lit up the room when he walked in, always made an impression, and filled the house with his booming, boisterous laughter. He took time to help those in need, even strangers stuck on the side of the road. He treasured his family and loved when the kids stopped by.

He enjoyed boating, fast cars, motorcycles, and airplanes. He was steps away from obtaining his pilot’s license.

He is survived by his wife; four loving children, Elizabeth Ann Hetrick and son-in-law Corey Hetrick of Richlands, NC, Matthew Olsen of Boyertown, PA, Heather Olsen of Mt. Joy, PA, and Jeffrey Olsen of Holmes, NY; 8 grandchildren; his mother, Billie Jo Olsen of Mount Laurel, NJ; and two brothers, Mark Olsen of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Steven Olsen of Tuckerton, NJ.

Memorial services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, 111 North Reading Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512, on Saturday, January 15, 2022. Family and friends may arrive from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.
