Kathryn Lynn Phillips

Born in Callicoon, NY on 5 February 1949, she is the daughter of Mildred (Hawker) Slausenberg of Exeter Twp. and the late Willard Slausenberg. Kathryn is also survived by her sister, Cheryl Jensen of Cary, SC., and is sorely missed by her itty bitty cat Bella and beautiful Bernese Billie. She leaves behind an extended family of friends who will forever mourn her loss.

She graduated from the Delaware Valley Central School, where her father taught music. Kathryn received her BS in Education at New York State University at Brockport with a major in teaching.

She was a riding instructor at the School of Riding in Warwick, Bermuda and was a FDA Submissions Analyst for Sanofi-Aventis in Malvern, PA before her retirement.

Kathryn was an accomplished equestrian, competing in Hunter/Jumper events in the Northeast at a State/National level as "Daddy's Girl" and young woman. She won many championships during her competition career, although modest as ever, she rarely spoke of them. She continued to ride for pleasure for the remainder of her life, always finding comfort and solace in caring for animals she loved so much. All her life she was surrounded by animals of all kinds, who responded to her kindness and love for them. Kathryn was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Birdsboro.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life with family and friends will be held Friday, June 24th at 4pm at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc. 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown, PA. 19512.
