Lena M. Royer Hacker

Lena M. (Manwiller) Royer Hacker, 91, of Boyertown passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. She was predeceased by her first husband Gordon Royer in 1959 and her second husband Joseph Hacker.

Born in Boyertown, PA she was the daughter of the late Florence May (Baus) and Charles S. Manwiller.

She was a 1939 Boyertown High School graduate.

She worked for the former Boyertown Casket Company in the sewing department for 38 years retiring in 1991.

Lena was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown. She was life time member of the Boyertown Orioles and the Rebekah’s. She was a violinist in the school orchestra. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidering and sewing. She loved to travel, also an avid Phillies fan.

Lena is survived by two sons, Gordon E., Jr., husband of Joan of Lancaster, Larry J Royer husband of Patricia of Boyertown; a step-son, Joseph Hacker of Pottstown; grandchildren, Timothy Royer, Jeffrey husband Barbara Royer, Christine Royer Weller, Bethann Royer Sosa, Angie Royer Chrystal, wife of Raymond and Karen Royer Nelson, wife of Craig; great-grandchildren, Danielle Royer, Timothy Royer, Jr., Toni Royer, Allen Sosa, Andrea Royer, Mitchell Weller, Courtney Kokonos, Lance Kokonos, Jeremy Kokonos, Meghan Chrystal, Charlie Chrystal, Raymond Chrystal, Jr. and Elliott Chrystal; great-great-grandchildren, Blake Endy, Maddox Moser, Caleb Moser and Lilly Royer. She was also predeceased by a brother, Carl C. Manwiller.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m.; Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown, The Reverend Dennis Christie will officiate.

A viewing will be Tuesday between 10 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 35 West Philadelphia Avenue, Boyertown, PA 19512.
