Santo A. “Tony” Stillo, Jr., 84, of Nazareth formerly of Palmer Township passed away on the evening of July 29, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Shirley (Hellings) Stillo with whom they celebrated 60 years of marriage in November.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in his home to the late Catherine M. (Viscomi) and Santo Stillo, Sr.
Santo was graduate of Phillipsburg High School Class of 1952, then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He attended Churchman’s Business School.
He worked in the banking industry for 50 years. First at Lafayette Bank and then Carteret Savings and Loan for 13 years last working there as a Regional Vice President. After banking he worked as a realtor for the Paul Ford Real-Estate Agency for over 20 years. Upon retiring he worked part time at Sears and Sawmill Golf Course.
Santo was active in the community. He was a past president for the Easton Area JC’s, the Phillipsburg Chamber of Commerce and the American Institute of Banking. Santo was a former treasurer for the Palmer Township Athletic Association and the Notre Dame High School Booster Club.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas A. husband of Susan K. (Parker) Stillo of Easton and Brian M. husband of Christina M. (Smith) Stillo of Kutztown. Grandchildren, Mason A. Stillo , Thomas Santo Stillo and Megyn G. Stillo all at home. A sister, Rosemarie “Rome” Rounsaville of Palmer Twp. A brother-in-law, Joseph Simonetta of Forks Twp. and a sister-in-law Joan Stillo of Saylorsburg. Along with many nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Junior”. Santo is predeceased by his siblings Frank Stillo, Sr., Anthony Stillo and Antoinette Simonetta.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s III Lutheran Church, 2561 Newburg Rd., Easton, PA 18045. A Memorial Service at the church will follow at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Easton.
In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Santo’s name to St. Paul’s III Lutheran Church or to a charity on ones choice.
