William Latham Lowery, 88 Niantic -
December 29, 2021, William Latham Lowery Sr. sadly passed away at Reading Hospital at 88 years old. William (Bill) was Pennsylvania native, born in Conshohocken to the late Laura and Elmer Lowery and lived out most of his life in Niantic, next to his late wife Sandra (Sandy) Lowery. Bill was a respected and beloved member of the community known as a skilled blacksmith and farrier. His love and compassion for animals and art work expanded outside the bounds of his craft and into his home and community where he taught and created countless beautiful pieces of metal work for family and friends all over the country. Whether it be working for a client or at heritage festivals with apprentices and lifelong friends, Tom and Matt, you could count on Bill to be there in his American flag suspenders with his trusted border collies by his side. Bill was known by friends and family to be tough as nails with a lion heart, bravely defending his country in the Korean War until 1955. Three years later, Bill and Sandy started their family and had three children. Son, William Lowery Jr. of Bechtelsville, daughter, Jennifer- Lowery Bomboy of Exeter and Christopher Lowery of Bally. While raising three children Bill and Sandy found time for passions including teaching farrier classes at the Pennsylvania State University, being the subject of many of his wife's paintings and rounding out their retirement traveling in England. A beautiful life that was sweetened by the arrival of grandchildren; Dustin Lowery, Jeremy Lowery, David Fabian, John Fabian and Katie Bomboy. He had ten great grandchildren whom he cherished including; Billy, Isabelle, Abigail, Ben, Oliver, Phineas, Bailey, Ella, Calvin and Dawson. William was a friend to many and will be missed dearly.
