Anthony “Don” Donald La Manna, 89, of Florida, entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2025. Born September 7, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, Don lived a full and blessed life rooted in faith, family, and love.
A proud veteran, Don honorably served his country in the U.S. Army’s 1st Armor Division. Following his service, he went on to own and operate a successful heavy equipment business for over 30 years, where he was known for his hard work, dedication, and integrity.
Sixty-five years ago, Don and his beloved wife, Mary, moved to Florida, where together they built a life filled with love and memories. Married for 67 years, Don and Mary’s bond was an example of true devotion. Though far from his birthplace, Don carried with him a lifelong love for the New York Yankees and Giants. He also enjoyed horse racing, a passion that brought him both excitement and joy throughout the years.
Family was Don’s greatest treasure. He was the proud father of four children: Tina Marie (deceased), Anthony (Tony) and wife Jacqueline, James (Jim), and Donnamarie and husband Steven. His legacy continues through his five grandchildren—Elizabeth (Beth) and husband JD, Daniel and wife Sara, Nicholas, Gabrielle, and Sarah—as well as his four beloved great-grandchildren, David, Jack, Andrew, and Matthew. Don is also survived by his loving brother Peter, along with numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply.
Don is now reunited in eternal peace with the Lord, his beloved daughter Tina Marie, and the brothers and sisters who went before him. He leaves behind a life story marked by love, faith, perseverance, and family devotion.
He will be remembered always as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His kindness, strength, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Mass for Don will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12:00 pm (noon) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1710 S. Hickory St., Melbourne, FL 32901. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 10:30 am at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
