Arthur W. Zuranski, 91, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Born on November 27, 1934, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Art lived a long and vibrant life marked by devotion to family, faith, and a deep appreciation for music and flight.
Art was a man of many talents and passions. A devoted husband to June Zuranski for 63 years, he brought warmth and joy into the lives of those around him. His sense of humor was infectious—it was always a delight to make him laugh—and his generous spirit touched many. Known affectionately as “Bozie,” Art had an uncanny ability to repair just about anything. Whether it was a household appliance or a complex mechanical issue, he approached each challenge with patience and skill.
A lifelong lover of music, Art found great joy in musicals and could often be found watching *Guys and Dolls* or *Yes, Giorgio* for the hundredth time. He especially cherished the music of Frank Sinatra and Luciano Pavarotti but held a special admiration for the timeless works of Johnny Mercer. His love for music extended beyond listening—he was a wonderful dancer who brought grace and rhythm to every step.
Art’s passion for aviation led him to build small planes in his garage—not once but twice—a testament to his determination and fascination with flight. This love of flying reflected his adventurous spirit and meticulous craftsmanship.
Faith played a central role throughout Art’s life. He possessed an abiding spirituality that guided his actions and outlook. Though private in his beliefs, those who knew him recognized the depth of his devotion. At various times in his life, he attended daily Mass and found solace in worship. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Lakewood Ranch and previously sang in the choir at both that parish and St. Raphael's Parish in Maryland. His voice lifted in song was one more way he expressed his reverence and joy.
Art’s legacy continues through his loving family: his wife June; children Kathy Stuck, Andrew Zuranski, and Ceci Linton; grandchildren Christopher Lyons, Grace Lyons, Erin Lyons, Elizabeth Torsell, Bernadette Zigaravich, Patrick Zuranski, Gregory Zuranski, Lexi Strecker, and Tori Linton; as well as great-grandchildren Edith Torsell, Issac Torsell, Ignatius Zigaravich, and Florence Zigaravich.
He is reunited in peace with his sons Christopher Zuranski and Mark Zuranski.
A Funeral Mass will be held on December 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Our Lady of the Angels 12905 State Road 70 E. There will be a viewing on December 15, 2025 from 8:00 am-10:00 am at Robert Toale & Sons, 4310 Solutions Ln, Bradenton, FL 34211. Internment will be January 5, 2026 at Saint Gabriel's Cemetery in Potomac, Maryland.
Art will be remembered for the sparkle in his eyes, the joy he carried for others, and the quiet strength of his faith. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
