

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John William (Bill) Cowdright, age 79, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and a dedicated member of his community. Bill's unwavering love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
Bill was born on October 19, 1943, and throughout his life, he exemplified compassion, strength, and devotion. He was a loving husband to his beloved wife, and a caring father to his children and grandchildren. His presence brought warmth and joy to their lives, and his memory will forever be etched in their hearts.
Bill was born to William and Margaret Cowdright of Concordville. He was a graduate of Penncrest High School and Widener University where he later served as President of the Alumni Association.
Bill's commitment to service extended beyond his family. He served his country with honor and valor as a member of the Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and selflessness in the face of adversity will always be remembered and held in high regard.
In addition to his military service, Bill dedicated his time and energy to volunteering at Crowley Museum and Nature Center and at the University of Florida Master Gardener Program. His compassionate nature made him an invaluable asset to the community, touching the lives of countless individuals with his kindness and support.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Lynn, his children, Keith (Leanne), Lisa (Jerry), Amy, Michael (Kat), and Amber, grandchildren, Josh, Ashley, Ray, Nate, Jordan, Andrew, Dominick, Marcellus, and Rosalyn, and great-grandchildren, Mateo and Ivelisse, who held a special place in his heart.
In this time of mourning, let us remember the beautiful moments shared with Bill and find solace in the memories that will forever keep his spirit alive. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Robert Toale and Sons Celebration of Life Center, 4310 Solutions Lane, Bradenton, FL 34211, with a reception to follow.
