

Michael Gary Clamon, age 77, of Brandon, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Mike, the son of Wilbur and Laverne Clamon, was born May 28, 1946 in Bloomington, Illinois.
Mike was a graduate of H.B. Plant High School and the University of South Florida.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. During his service he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Gallantry Cross, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and a Purple Heart.
Mike was a State Farm Insurance agent for more than 50 years, building relationships with loyal customers who became friends. He donated much of his time coaching high school softball where he positively impacted countless lives.
Mike was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, coach and friend. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking family vacations and watching softball.
He was preceded in death by brothers David and Bill and sister Marcia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Paula, daughters Garri (Dean) Quinlan, Allison (Jeremy) Erickson, son Shane Clamon, grandchildren Jacob Grice, Caleb Grice, Gracin Quinlan, Piper Quinlan, brothers John, Richard, Don, Jerry, sister Janet and their families.
A private graveside service will be held at the Florida National Cemetery with military honors.
