

Robert Stephen Grabowski, known to all as Bob, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 83. He was born on January 5, 1943, in Yonkers, New York, to the late Robert F. Grabowski and Estelle Yedowitz.
Bob grew up working in his family’s florist shop and graduated from Charles E. Gorton High School in Yonkers. He later served in the United States Army, where he trained soldiers in tank operations. His military service instilled in him the discipline and work ethic that guided him throughout his life.
Following his service, Bob attended New York University and went on to build a successful career in Information Technology, specializing as a Data Center Director and leading the development of large data centers for major organizations including Citibank, Sallie Mae, CSX, and Fairfax County.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob had a deep love for golf. Even after he was no longer able to play, he remained closely connected to the game through his work at River Strand Golf & Country Club, where he was cherished by many. Shortly before his passing, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by traveling to Poland, adding a memorable chapter to his life.
Bob truly loved life and made the most of it, enjoying ski trips, backyard barbecues, and dinners out. He was always ready for a good time and treasured the moments spent with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathryn L. Grabowski; his son, Robert J. Grabowski (Emily); his daughter, Amy L. Grabowski (George); and his grandchildren, Ellie, Lucy, Grayson, and Coltrane.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date to honor his memory and the many lives he touched. He will be remembered for his kindness, his calm nature, and his love for his family.
