

It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Anthony Sammut on May 13, 2023. Anthony passed away at home surrounded by his family at the age of 81 after a long, hard fight with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Doris (nee Fenech) of 54 wonderful years.
Beloved father to Mark (Sandra) and Alison. Cherished grandfather to 3 grandchildren.
He was born on June 26, 1941, in B’Kara, Malta to Romeo and Rita Sammut. One of eight (8) children, Anthony loved his brothers and sisters – Alice, Joe, Charlie and Mary Rose and their spouses. He is predeceased by his loving sisters Eileen and Myriam and his brother Paul. Anthony will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews and his great nieces and nephews.
A retired Loblaws employee, Anthony is remembered for his dedication to his family, his love for his garden and animals - especially his love for his beloved puggle Roman. Anthony loved hockey and his Toronto Maple Leafs. He was an avid supporter of youth hockey and the Brampton Canadettes Hockey Club. He touched the hearts and lives of everyone he met and will be missed dearly by many.
Visitation will take place on Thursday May 18, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, at Andrews Community Funeral Centre. Family and Friends are welcome to attend Funeral Mass at St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Church in Brampton on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11am. Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mississauga following the mass.
