To David’s family 
I had the pleasure of playing alongside David on a number of occasions with the Toronto Welsh. As a young kid and part of the York Mills group I always took confidence in having David on the field with us. He was a great mentor and teacher of the game. I always knew when David had the ball what direction he was going to run…straight ahead. 
He was a great guy always supportive and gave us all fond memories.

I first met Dave as a young rugby player, Canadian not welsh. Don’t stop reading. He was a big influence on me together with his welsh compatriots, who came over and helped us form the Toronto Welsh rugby club. We were successful, notwithstanding  Dave’s help . It was wonderful to know and befriend him, his goofy smile was always engaging. He and the Welsh boys were always keen on friendship, beer and rugby, but always in the reverse order. They made us feel welcome and taught us to love the game and the culture surrounding it. I will always remember Dave’s smile   and good nature. The fact that I have not had contact with Dave for decades speaks to the impact his influence had on me as a young guy try to understand the intricacies of rugby and beer. Uge, Uge, Uge. What started out as a mutual love of Rugby turned into a 47 year friendship.  David had my back on and off the field.
  He was kind,  had a quick wit,  he was an outstanding man and always, always had a great playlist.
Kathleen and I will be forever grateful for the day David and Margit welcomed us into their ever growing loving family.
Thankyou for all the priceless memories.

You will never be forgotten and always will be in our hearts.

We are so sorry to hear about David.  He struggled for so long.  We have lots of good memories of his fantastic sense of humor and antics with Steven.  His memories will live on forever and he will be missed.

Dearest Margit and Girls was so sad to here  of your loss of David just hang on to the Love you had for each other in this time of grief. 
I made a friend for Life when I met you and Margit  in 1977 when we came to Canada then later the girls you were  such great family. Many good memories of Dave a few beers passed our lips, I remember wild Stag night down Town in Irish club and same night in another place four of us got up to sing with those Transvestite what a laugh.

It is with a heavy heart I write these few words. I have never forgotten the generosity shown to me by David and I understand the loss that must be felt now that he has sadly departed. May the happy memories of David bring you comfort and peace and I have no doubt that has only slipped away to the next room, keeping a close eye on you from afar. Wishing you peace and strength during this difficult time.

I first met David  at a Toronto Welsh Rugby Club practice in March 1974 having just arrived from Wales and looking for connections. So started an almost 50 year very deep and close friendship with David, Margit and their three wonderful daughters. Together with the other Welsh immigrants in the club,  we had so many adventures , some of which scare me even now just thinking about them. They all seemed like such good ideas at the time!!!! We spent many summer afternoons by their pool and their Christmas party was always a “not to be missed event”.  David was always solid, dispensed sage advice (which was influenced in direct proportion with the number of “50’s” that had been consumed), and was a true and loyal friend. He will be sorely missed. Margit, Jen, Christine, Jane, our heartfelt condolences go out to you all and please know we will always be here for you. With much love and affection.  Graham, Vicki, Megan and David

A solid friend from the moment we first met, a friendship that grew to include Margit, their wonderful daughters and beautiful grand-children. Rosemary and I and our children have a special place in our hearts for David and all the joy and value he brought to our lives.
His outlook on life, his happiness, his constant smile, his willingness to share the load. A loving, lovely man.
We spent many hours together either playing, watching or talking rugby, and together put many hours into being part of the Toronto Welsh Rugby Club. We also spent many hours together as families enjoying our children and watching them grow.
David, we thank you for all the wonderful times, the memories you helped create and for your grace. Rest in Peace Good Friend.
