It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Eduardo Magno on June 11, 2023, in Brampton, Ontario, with family by his side. Survived by his loving wife Gladys Magno for 54 wonderful years. Beloved father to Alejandro (Joyce Tsai).
He was born on March 22, 1942, in Montevideo, Uruguay to Alejandro and Mercedes Magno. Both of his parents passed away early in his life and Eduardo did not have the opportunity for much formal education. He helped at a local mechanic shop and eventually drove a public bus which he partially owned and where he met Gladys and married in 1969. Eduardo immigrated to Toronto in 1973 to start a new life and opportunities for his young family, and in 1974 was joined by Gladys and Alejandro. He worked many factory jobs until he saved enough to purchase his first haul truck and start his own company, Magno Haulage until he retired in 2007. Eduardo was larger than life, he always had a smile for everyone and loved conversations. He could talk for hours about anything. His passions were family, futbol (soccer), listening to Plácido Domingo, eating Uruguayan barbeque, and his home country of Uruguay.
A visitation will be held at Andrews Community Funeral Centre on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 4pm-8pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in his honour.
Eduardo was loved and will be missed dearly by many.
