Joan Margaret Nascimento (nee D’Abreu)

It is with heavy hearts, grief and profound sadness that we convey the news of Joan Nascimento's passing on Friday, November 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and family at William Osler Hospital in Brampton.

Born on April 20, 1940, in the picturesque country of Aruba to her parents Estha Rosaline and Stephen Gabriel, Joan's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and shared joys.

Left to lovingly cherish her memory is her husband, the love of her life, Albert Ricardo Nascimento and their adored children—son Philip and daughters Nicole (Mark) and Francesca (Lee). Joan's legacy extends gracefully through her seven grandchildren: Patrick (Hayley), Nathan, Alannah, Stavros, Seamus, Marisa, and Shawna and her two step- grandchildren Karter and Sawyer.

Her departure has left a profound void, keenly felt by her siblings Maureen, Jean (Stephen), Brenda (Decio), Dennis, and tenderly remembered alongside her late brothers, Ronald and Kenneth (Maureen). Joan's warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her—friends, extended family, and beyond.

Dearest Sister, Wife, Mother, Granny Joan, and Auntie Joan—may the enduring memories of your love and laughter continue to illuminate our hearts, and may you find eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 4pm-8pm at Andrews Community Funeral Centre - Bramalea Chapel, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, ON L6T 5N9. A funeral mass will take place at 11am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 8530 Chinguacousy Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5G4. Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Mississauga, Ontario.

The family would like to extend their invitation to join them for a reception following the interment from 1pm-5pm at Mississauga Valley Community Center in Reception Room #1, at 1275 Mississauga Valley Boulevard , L5A 3R8.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests that donations be made in memory of Joan to Alzheimer's Association that resonates with Joan's spirit of compassion and care.
