November 20, 1971 – October 4, 2015 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear sister, daughter, aunt and friend. Lesley died peacefully, after bravely battling a brain tumour for sixteen years. In her final days, she was surrounded by her loving friends and sisters at the Brampton Civic Hospital. Lesley always had a smile on her face that could light up a room, and had a way to make everyone feel good in her presence. Despite her own battles she was kind and generous, helping anyone in need. Lesley also had a special fondness for animals: They could always sense that and loved her in return. Lesley's passing is not in vain: Her kindness and generosity as an organ donor has improved someone else's life with the gift of sight. Now her recipient has the ability to see this beautiful world, in awe and wonder, through Lesley's beautiful, brown eyes. She has left her family, her friends, and the eye recipient, a hero. She is no longer scared. She is no longer in pain. She is now with her father, Anthony Soutar and her beloved cat Pumpkin. Life for the rest of us will no longer be the same. Forever in our hearts, she will always be fondly remembered by her mother, Elizabeth Soutar (née Campbell), her sisters, Kimberley Soutar (and her partner, Thomas Gohard), Tracey Detoro (and her husband, Paul Detoro) and her twin and best friend, Jacquie Soutar. Her nieces and nephews, Natasha Elizabeth Blimkie, Carter Anthony Blimkie, Brooke Lesley Detoro, Joey Wendel Detoro and Michael Anthony Detoro will miss and never forget the “cool” aunt that she was. There will be a visitation on Saturday, October, 10, 2015 from 10am‒12pm, followed by a service at Andrews Funeral Centre at 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, ON L6T 5N9. Honouring Lesley's wishes, we request, in lieu of flowers and cards, that donations be made to The Terry Fox Foundation and the Humane Society.
