Although we did not meet very often I do remember the times we did with fond memories. You were very kind to my Mother (Martin's Mum's sister), when she visited you in Canada, to which I was always grateful - she always came  back with many great memories.

It is hard to believe that I shall never see you again. Atleast we met in April 2010 and enjoyed a pleasant walk together on Puttenham common.
How strange that you should pass away on our mother's birthday. I hope you found one another again.

To my Darling Martin:
Both your adopted loving Brother and I, did our best to honour your life in the Dignity and Respect You Deserved.  Full packed house at the Chapel.  You certainly made an impression on many of your loved friends, family and business aquaintances over the years. 
Your Staff at Provincial Paper honoured you with all their attendants and fairwells. You will never be forgotten.  As I promised, no matter where you go, both Rick and I will find you and we shall be to-gether again.... some day. May you now rest in peace.

I was saddened to hear of Martin's passing. He will be missed among his angling friends with the Atlantic Salmon Assoc. and Muskies Canada.I thank him for all his help and financial support in helping to preserve these fisheries.
 Although his goal of catching a new World Record 65 lb. plus musky eluded him, he remains the only muskyhunter who actually broke the magic 60 lb. mark. The 62 lb. musky he caught with his fishing partner, Lonnie, was a remarkable achievement after many years of braving the cold winds of November on Georgian Bay. 
Martin will always be remembered among muskymen for his skills and dedication to our sport. I will miss seeing him trolling his favorite shoals off Honey Harbour...."Fish On Martin"

My sincere condolences to Martin's family.  My father, Bill Ridgley, worked with Martin at CIP Victoria in Scarborough after arriving in Ontario from England (via the US) in 1962. I remember Martin and another friend named Alan Hardy coming to our house when I was 3 or 4 years old and remember Martin being lots of fun.  I believe Martin and my father became good friends early on with a common love for fishing.  Perhaps they will meet again now, on a peaceful lake somewhere where they can fish forever.
My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
