Mary had a long career in the hospitality industry where she brought her bright smile and incredible work ethic every day. While a manager at the Soup and Sandwich Shoppe in Square One from the day it opened until it closed, she gave over a hundred young girls their first jobs and trained them in the very things that she held dear. She was well respected and loved, an enthusiastic crib player, and could add and count faster than any computer. Some would say that she was a force of nature, and the world is just a bit ‘less’ without her in it.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Robert Vale (Christine Vale), and her daughter, Kimberly Vale (David Milne). Mary was the much-loved grandmother of Allison Vale (John Gray), Jacob Milne (Tess Hudson) and Abigail Milne. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Alec and Elizabeth Bardoci, her loving husband, Tony Vale (d.2006), sister, Helen Halir, Brothers-in-law, Michael Halir and Stanley Cicci, and nephew, Tom Halir (Angela). She is survived by her sister, Mitzi Cicci, nephews David Cicci and Michael Halir, her niece, Annette Imber and extended family and friends.
