It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Sheila Teresa D’Silva at the age of 87, at her home in Brampton, Ontario. A cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she was an enduring source of love, wisdom, and comfort to all who knew her.
Born on September 6th, 1937 in Mumbai, India, Sheila spent her life devoted to her family, friends, and community. She immigrated to Canada as a new bride, and built a happy life with her husband and children.
She had a remarkable ability to light up a room with her sense of humour, kind smile and gentle spirit. Sheila loved traveling, painting, spending time with others, and showering her grandchildren with hugs, kisses, and pearls of wisdom.
Sheila will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and extended family, who will carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. She was preceded in death by her husband Philip and her son Clarence.
A private memorial will be held on Thursday, February 20th, where her family will honor and celebrate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Indus Community Services - Brampton (https://www.induscs.ca/donate/) or to the Canadian Mental Health Association (https://cmhapeeldufferin.ca/get-involved/donate-now/) in her memory.
While she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit, warmth, and love will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by love.
