It was a shock of learning of Steve's passing. I have known Steve for 4 decades. I met him when he worked with my friend Jeff at Construction Safety downtown Toronto. Since that time we would meet often and often to tears of laughter! A true friend to the end.
My Condolences to Steve's family. Steve maybe gone but never forgotten. We will have Beverages and laughter again.

Steve was one of a kind. He could make me smile just thinking about him.  I will miss our phone banter, our lunches, and the laughs we shared. My deepest condolences to Lisa, Maeve, Jake, Debbie, Tony, and all of Steve’s family and friends. 

I’ll always remember my oldest cousin Stephen for his smile, humor, predictable good spirit, and just being totally at ease with our big loud Northern Irish family at every holiday party, summer bbq, and celebration. You will be missed to say the least. I hope you and your mum and the other Lavery’s we miss so much are having a proper catch-up. Erin xoxo 

Uncle Steve, gone way too soon. I find myself each day taking a few moments to laugh and smile because that is what every moment was. Whether it was around the Pool, Birthdays, Christmas or any other event. Before even stepping foot in the door, before a coat or shoe was off, laughter was already present. From the "Welcome to my Home" to quotes from either Monty Python, Spinal Tap or Family Guy. I can remember watching the Holy Grail this one evening, opening scene, just fog blowing across a field and we are all already in tears with what we knew was coming next.
Thank you for the laughs, thank you for the support and thank you for always offering to put a roof over my head after a long day of work at the airport. Keep an eye on us all and I'm sure you will send some signs when your around, Rest Peacefully.

Last time I saw him after decades was at Marks.  Did not know he was not well! May he RIP 🤍🕊️ Gods plans are rather confusing.

When he was a wee toddler, living in England, I was nine, helping him run back down a slide, to run into the house, to go toiley. So proud of himself, he made it! Coming to my house as a teenager, “ Aunt Esther, can you trim my hair?” “Ha, I’ll give it a go “ YEARS later, calling me up frequently, “Hey, I’m coming to get you, let’s go to lunch!!” It meant so much to me. I will truly miss you Stephen. Always in my heart.

My Stevie...how I will miss your daily phone calls from the road, our chuckles and chitchats about anything and everything.  Whether it was just for 2 minutes or if it went on for 15 minutes...I loved every second.  You were the best big brother a person could ever dream to have.  You gave me hell when I deserved it, gave me comfort when I needed it and gave me sound advice all the time!  Your grin, your 'aaaaaaah', your voice, YOU, will be so very dearly missed. Lisa, Maeve and Jake,

We share in your sadness and hope Steve is in a better place.
He certainly brought a lot of life to our neighbourhood throughout the many years since your family moved here. If there is some kind of afterlife I'm sure he's enjoying a good pint and trying to convince someone that VAR is a farce.

I can't help but feel drift away living on the other side of the world, and not being involved over the past nearly 2 decades.  But when we did cross paths, I was always excited to see his great smile, confident jock like stature, and good banter whatever the topic.  He was a cool dude, nice guy and genuine.  I wish all you close loved ones the best through these tough times.  Be proud of the legend who was your son, father, husband, brother, cousin, nephew, friend.  

I first met Steve at CSAO; where we worked and partied together - never a dull moment. To us, the bar scene was a nightly event and when asked about our employment designation, we would always tell the truth - "Mail Metering Clerks". Of course no body believed us while standing there in suits.  Somehow at two-in-the-morning, Steve and I would always end up in a pizzeria or sub shop on Yonge Street solving the world's problems between burps and farts. Then like those two cartoon characters Sheepdog and Wolf, we would say: "Good night Ralph. See you join the morning Sam" and go home. 

One December night, Lisa, Steve, and me, were at our favourite hangout - Studebakers. The DJ had stopped the music to repair a broken needle on a turntable. So he said, go ahead and sing Christmas carols - so the three of of us started singing Jingle Bells and the whole nightclub joined in.  Steve was a Monty Python connoisseur, "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" and he did. The Holy Grail movie always gave my son Blake, Steve, and myself something to laugh about. 

Dear Lord, thank you for putting Steve into our lives. This is not goodbye my friend, but so long for Sir until we meet again. We then can discuss coconuts, african and european swallows over a Heineken or two.  Love you and God Bless.

Steve my friend I will miss you dearly! During our teens as a group of lads we were inseparable concerts, camping trips, the parties and of course the spontaneous liquid lunches listening to our favourite bands with air guitars and drums!! 

For a while life created distance between us all until 2014 when we all reunited as 50 year olds! Every time I made a trip home we took the chance to catch up!! 

You are very loved my friend, all of us will hold you in our hearts and minds!! Lisa, Jake and Maeve I send my deepest condolences he loved you all dearly! X

Thank you for letting me be your second daughter and for driving Maeve and I to our nerd conventions. I'm going to miss you tons Steve! 💕

Stephen and I use to text back and forth on silly subjects. Men will be boys. We use to talk at length about " Duncan the Scottish camel ". We would come up with scenarios that Duncan would be in. Hahaha. We knew what we wanted him to look like. Four wellies and two humps with a bonnet and a fag in his mouth. I believe he asked Maeve if she could draw Duncan and well as I. It never transpired. Stephen decided that Duncan would be a native of the Highland town of Buckie. He actually contacted the Buckie Thistle football club to purchase merchandise. I still have my Buckie Thistle toque that he bought me. The silly things we use to talk about and laugh about will always stay in my heart. 

My deepest condolences to the Howard family. I know how it feels i lost my brother three years ago and i suffered PTSD. I had to take him off life support.

My deepest sympathy to the family. He is at peace now. My God rest his soul.
