I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Val. He always seemed much younger and vigorous than his years.My condolences to Matilda and her extended family.

My heartfelt condolences on the passing of dear Valerian.  I am sorry I did not hear about it or I would have come to the visitation and funeral.  
My husband, Romeo passed away on the same date 1 yr. ago.

Uncle Valen bought me science and nature books, and encouraged me to read the periodicals that he subscribed to. 

The former was not easy for him to do in the mid-1970s, as he was a recent immigrant, on a budget, and with a niece and many nephews in the GTA to attend to.

Deepest sympathies to Matilda and the Fernandes family.  We always played trook at the Westend Seniors Club and Val was very smart at that game.  He was very kind and a gentleman.  We surely will miss him at the club.

We revived our friendship with laughter, laughter, until I heard the sad passing away of Val - may his soul R.I.P.
